One of the main responsibilities that you acquire being self-employed revolves around being up to date with your tax obligations. It is important that they can keep up with their debts and avoid late fees or penalties. For this reason, the Electronic Office has designed an online tool that allows taxpayers to review their debts and carry out other procedures before the RETA.
How to consult the debts before the Social Security?
The online consultation before Social Security is aimed at citizens in general and legal entities. The only prerequisite to be able to use this tool is to have an affiliation number with the institution, known as NAF, or a contribution account code.
In order to access your information, you must register on the portal of the General Treasury of Social Security. Once this step has been completed, you can consult your debt through the Electronic Office in the Companies > Collection section.
At this point, you must choose your procedure and the identification method you want to use, be it the digital certificate, your username and password or cl@ve pin. In this last option it is necessary that you have previously registered your mobile number with the TGSS.
If you want to know the amount of the debt for the current month, you have to access the portal after the 26th, since after that date the current installment is reflected (If you carry out this process before the date, your amounts from previous months will appear).
If you have outstanding amounts to be paid, you can make the payment virtually through card payment. This modality is applied for claims, debt settlements, order and enforcement file, fractioning of the reimbursement of undue benefits, among others that are specified on the web.
On the other hand, in addition to knowing the pending payments, from the Social Security portal you can make other requests without having to leave home:
- Receive a document with information about the debt, including terms, amount and a reference number.
- Filter and select the amounts or obligations that you want to see reflected in the payment receipt, in case you are not going to make the full deposit.
- Obtain the necessary bank information to enter your payment, which you can make online or through a teller or ATM.
- Receive a receipt once you have paid off the debt. If there were no pending settlements, you can also obtain a document that proves it.
- Process the deferral in the payment of your quotas.
- Request a moratorium or fee waiver in the event of a catastrophic situation.
- Request a report that guarantees that you are up to date with Social Security. This will be valid to qualify for any aid or subsidy.
- Manage the reimbursement of bonuses for professional training for employment.
Being up to date with Social Security is an essential obligation for any self-employed worker. In case of not doing so, the consequences can range from surcharges to fines for infraction.
Note: Having a good period of payment on time will also allow you to apply for the aid provided by the government. In addition, it can help you better organize your finances and keep your business running.
