The job seeker card must be requested at the offices of the Public Employment Service of the autonomous community where the applicant resides, or at the offices of the SEPE in the cases of Ceuta and Melilla.
How can I register as a job seeker?
To carry out this procedure, you must go in person to their offices, or through the Internet. To access the SEPE Electronic Office click on the image:
The documentation that we have to take with us is our identification document (DNI) and in the case of being a foreigner also our residence and/or work permit. We will also have to provide the Social Security card (in the case of being a foreigner you will need to present this document if you have worked before in Spain) and the supporting documents of professional or academic qualifications if we have any.
After registering as a job seeker, you can apply for an unemployment benefit if you are entitled to it. Unemployment benefits are processed through the State Public Employment Service, by appointment via the Internet, the SEPE telephone number 901 010 210, or the provincial telephone numbers. This process must also be done in person.
