Form EX02 is used to apply for the temporary residence of relatives of Spanish citizens, foreigners who stay temporarily in Spain, or foreigners who are legally residing in Spain.
Immigration Form EX02 includes the following types of permits:
- Relative of the holder of a renewed (or pending renewal) temporary residence permit (art. 53)
- Relative of the holder of a long-term residence permit or long-term residence permit for EU citizens (art. 56)
- Relative of the holder of (or in the process of applying to) a temporary residence and work permit for researchers (arts. 56 and 83)
- Relative of the holder of (or in the process of applying to) a EU Blue Card (arts. 56 and 94)
- Voluntarily returned foreigner (art. 120)
- Minor born in Spain son of a resident (art. 185.3)
- Relative of the holder of a stay permit, which will be modified to a residence and work permit (art. 199.1)
- Relative of the holder of a job search residence permit (DA 17th Law 14/2013)
What is it for?
It is used to request family reunification for relatives of:
- Spanish citizens
- Foreigners legally residing in Spain
- Foreigners who are in a situation of legal temporary stay, such as students
Who can request it?
Therefore, only the petitioner/sponsor in Spain can request it.
What is the required documentation along with Form EX02?
The documents that must be submitted along with the Application Form EX02 are the following:
- Copy of the complete passport, travel title, or valid identity document of the sponsor.
- Certified copy of the documentation proving that the sponsor has a job and/or sufficient economic resources to meet the needs of their family member(s).
- Proof of adequate housing.
- Copy of the complete and valid passport or, on failing that, the travel title of the regrouped person.
- Copy of supporting documentation proving family or kinship ties.
- Finally, the supporting documentation of having insured health care.
Where should it be submitted?
The place of presentation of this application form is the Immigration Office of the province in which the sponsor resides. That is why, previously, they must request an appointment.
