Form 17 – Request for refund of fees or fines” from the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) is a form that must be filled in with the corresponding data to manage refunds.

It is possible to request a refund of the payment of public fees associated with traffic procedures in the event that an irregularity or incident subject to a claim has been identified.

To do this just follow the steps below:

  1. Fill in Form 17 to proceed to claim the refund of the paid amount.
  2. Attach the corresponding proof of payment of the fees for which the refund is requested. It should also include a copy of the resolution of the appeal or claim, in case it is the reason for the refund.
  3. All the documentation can be submitted at any Traffic Office (do not forget to request an appointment in advance) or online from the Electronic Registry of the Administration.

The case will be analyzed and, if applicable, the payment will be made through a bank transfer to the account that has been specified with all the digits in IBAN format. Please note that the account holder must be the same as the holder of the right of refund.
