Mass regularization in Spain for foreigners
Now is your chance! Legalize your status in Spain
- Eligibility test to find out if you qualify for the new Immigration Reform in 2026.
- Free consultation with an immigration expert.
What does the reform consist of?
It is an exceptional measure approved by the Spanish government to grant residence and work permits to nearly 500,000 foreigners who already live in and are trying to integrate into the country.
Unlike common arraigos and residency permits, this process seeks to reduce the underground economy and guarantee labor and social rights in a massive and simplified way.
Important: In addition to the applicant’s children, the spouse or registered partner may also apply for authorization at the same time.
Key Dates and Deadlines
- The Spanish Government approved Royal Decree 316/2026 on April 14, and it was published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) on April 15.
- Opening of applications: Starting Thursday, April 16, 2026, the online platform will be enabled to submit files.
- Deadline: You have until June 30, 2026. This is a short window of only two and a half months, so acting quickly is vital.
Do you apply for regularization for 2026?
Answer according to your actual situation to obtain your diagnosis. Submit the form to receive a copy of your results and answers in your email.
Required documentation
- Passport: It must be valid. If it is about to expire, you must apply for renewal at your consulate.
-
Criminal record certificate: From your country of origin and from the countries where you have resided during the last 5 years, duly apostilled, valid, and translated (if applicable).
- Exemption from criminal records in the country of origin: It will not be necessary to provide criminal records from a 3rd country if you have remained in Spain continuously for the last five years. Nor will it be necessary if you have already proven that you have no criminal record in the last five years and have not left Spain.
- Facilitation: If you request your criminal record to a country and do not receive a response within 1 month, the Spanish Administration may attempt to obtain it. If they also do not receive a response within 1 month, a sworn statement of no criminal record will be accepted.
-
Proof of residence: This could be your certificate of residence, passport entry stamps, airline tickets, bills in your name, or any private/public document that proves you were here before 2026.
- Important note regarding your stay: Even if you entered Spain before January 1st, the system will only allow you to validate your application once you have completed 5 full months of actual residence in the country.
- Key fact: One of the major new developments is the "fast track": it is estimated that within 15 days of your application being accepted, you could receive provisional authorization to start working legally while your final file is being processed.
- Negative silence: If three months pass without an express response, the application will be deemed rejected due to administrative silence.

We got an exceptional service from Paola Padron for the process of Digital Nomad Visa, from the very beginning until the end. Paola had been attentive and wonderful. She is responsive. I never waited for more than 24 hours for any question that I asked. She always provided clear answers, she was trustable, left no room for doubt. We started working with her and with Entre Tramites in may; we were guided very carefully during the document collecting process that lasted from june until july. Then began the official translation process that we did with them. They were very careful to each detail before the submission of documents. The process resulted with success and my partner, as the main applicant, had received his DNV. Since we were very happy to work with Paola, we also decided to do the TIE application with her. Now as the dependent, I am waiting for my own resuelto to come and she is still continuing to guide us navigate the Spanish bureaucracy. It is 100% worth it. The agent you hire is very very important because this process is not fast; it takes time. A good agent is everything. MUCHAS GRACIAS PAOLA PADRON! Muchas gracias Entre Tramites!![]()

I really enjoyed my initial visa consultation with Katherine Nebrijo. She was very educated on the immigration options that would be best for me, and referred me to a tax professional on her team as well. While this was a free consultation, I plan to use Entre Tramites for the rest of my process. I was referred by a friend who also had a great experience with them.![]()

FAQ
General info
Who can benefit from this mass regularization in Spain?
All foreign applicants of legal age who are in Spain illegally and who entered the country before January 01, 2026, are eligible to apply.
However, this process excludes people who are or have been holders of a residence permit for temporary protection for displaced persons from Ukraine.
What is the deadline for submitting the application?
The deadline to take advantage of these regularization measures is June 30, 2026. We recommend that you start the process as soon as possible to avoid administrative delays. Schedule your consultation now!
Can I regularize my family at the same time?
Yes, as we mentioned before, the law allows simultaneous applications for minor children, spouses, and, in certain cases, ascendants.
What is the provisional work permit and when do I get it?
Once your application has been accepted for processing, you will automatically receive a provisional authorization allowing you to work legally (as an employee or self-employed) while you await the final decision.
If I have a deportation order, can I apply for regularization?
Yes. Submitting an application for regularization automatically suspends any expulsion or return proceedings that may have been initiated against you for an irregular stay.
