Digital Certificate

Digital certificates are used to verify your real identity online when doing procedures with the Public Administration. There are two types of digital certificates, those included in the electronic DNI chip and those issued by the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre (FNMT) (Royal Mint of Spain).

Part of the application process for the Digital Certificate includes a face-to-face visit to a Public Administration office, where the identity of the applicant will be verified.
