What is the Spain Digital Nomad Visa?
The Spain Digital Nomad Visa is an official residence authorization introduced by the Spanish government to attract international talent. It provides a legal pathway for non-EU professionals to live in Spain while continuing to work remotely for employers or clients based abroad.
Whether you are a remote employee or a self-employed professional (freelancer), this permit grants you the legal right to establish your residency in Spain without needing a local employment contract.

Frequently asked questions
Info general
Can I apply for the visa if I am already in Spain?
Yes. You can start the process from your home country through the Spanish consulate (to obtain a visa), or apply for the residence authorization directly if you are already legally in Spain, for example, with tourist status.
Will I automatically pay taxes as a non-resident with this visa?
It is not automatic. You have the option to apply for a special tax regime (which offers a flat tax rate instead of a progressive tax), but it requires initiating a different procedure with the Tax Agency. This must be done within six months of obtaining your residence permit. Our team can also manage this procedure for you.
Can I work for Spanish clients if I am self-employed (freelancer)?
Yes, the visa allows self-employed workers to apply. However, if you provide services to companies or clients located in Spain, the income from these cannot exceed the limit established by regulations (currently 20% of your total professional activity).
What are my options if I do not meet all the requirements?
If upon reviewing your profile we find that you do not qualify for the Digital Nomad Visa, we will evaluate other immigration alternatives. Spain has different pathways, such as the Non-Lucrative Residence or the study visa, which might better suit your current situation.
