If you have lost your job, you must register as a job seeker<\/strong> in the State Public Employment Service offices (SEPE). We show you step-by-step how you can do it online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The job seeker card must be requested at the offices of the Public Employment Service of the autonomous community<\/strong> where the applicant resides, or at the offices of the SEPE in the cases of Ceuta<\/strong> and Melilla<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can I register as a job seeker?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The documentation <\/strong>that we have to take with us is our identification document (DNI) and in the case of being a foreigner also our residence and\/or work permit. We will also have to provide the Social Security card (in the case of being a foreigner you will need to present this document if you have worked before in Spain) and the supporting documents of professional or academic qualifications if we have any.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After registering as a job seeker, you can apply for an unemployment benefit<\/strong> if you are entitled to it. Unemployment benefits are processed through the State Public Employment Service, by appointment via the Internet<\/strong><\/a>, the SEPE<\/strong><\/a> telephone number<\/strong><\/a> 901 010 210, or the provincial telephone numbers. This process must also be done in person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
